Introduction to PHP Programming

This site contains notes to teach you PHP. It assumes that you know HTML and that you are comfortable in a Unix environment. The materials on this site were originally used for the Rutgers University Web Scripting Languages Certificate track WBM-527.

The course will be broken down into three modules each of which covers the following topics:

  1. PHP1: dynamic websites, strings, variables, operators, loops, functions, and conditionals

  2. PHP2: more operators, mathematical functions, working with HTML forms, and PHP email

  3. PHP3: string processing, arrays, associative arrays, and regular expressions

Upon completing this class you may wish to learn MySQL and then combine it with PHP via my Building Data Driven Websites Class.
